CBT Anxiety Adult

WHO IT’S FOR

Primary care clinicians: Family physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants

Anxiety affects millions of adults — and most of them are seen first, and often only, in primary care. This course teaches you to use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques with anxious adult patients, giving you evidence-based tools you can apply right away without waiting on a specialist.
Faculty include both a mental health professional and a primary care clinician, so every session connects research to real-world clinical practice.

Like all REACH training, this course is built on adult learning science. It has two components:

  • A full-day interactive workshop focused on building knowledge, skills, and confidence in CBT for adult anxiety.
  • Four follow-up case-based calls — one hour each — where you present cases from your own practice, get expert feedback, and put your learning to work.

Participants can earn up to 11.25 CME credits for both components.

COURSE GOALS

After this course, you’ll be able to:

Screen and assess for anxiety in primary care settings.

Apply evidence-based CBT techniques — including cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and exposure — with anxious adult patients.
