Become a REACH PPP Training Partner

Bring proven pediatric mental health training to every clinician in your community.

INTRODUCTION

Children across the country are waiting too long for mental health care, and primary care clinicians are often their first and only point of support.

REACH’s Patient-Centered Mental Health in Pediatric Primary Care (PPP) program gives PCPs the skills and confidence to deliver high-quality mental health care within the unique setting of primary care.

To make that training available at scale, REACH supports mission-aligned organizations to become licensed REACH Training Partners, delivering the PPP Program to clinicians in their region, sustainably and continuously.

What is a REACH Training Partner?

A REACH Training Partner is an institution, organization, or health system licensed by REACH to deliver the PPP program to primary care clinicians in a defined geographic area.

Current REACH Training Partners include:

Why Become a REACH Training Partner?

As a Training Partner, your organization can equip every PCP in your network or region — now and in the future — with the skills to deliver timely, effective mental health care to children and families.

Drive System-level Impact

Give all PCPs in your region the confidence to address common mental health conditions in primary care — reducing wait times and improving outcomes for children.

Leverage a Proven Model

Adopt a program with 20 years of demonstrated impact. Save time and resources while achieving your training goals.

Stay Current

REACH regularly updates PPP content, so your clinicians always have access to the most effective, evidence-based tools available.

“After seeing the benefits of PPP, we knew we needed to make it available for all providers — present and future — that we serve. The REACH Institute proved to be an amazing partner to help us develop our own faculty talent and teaching skills. We have been delivering training as a licensed site since 2021. Because of REACH, over 1 million kids and teens across Virginia have access to a trusted provider who can deliver effective, timely mental health care.”

Your questions, answered

Everything you need to know about becoming a Training Partner.

What is the PPP program?

PPP — Patient-Centered Mental Health in Pediatric Primary Care — trains primary care clinicians to diagnose and treat common pediatric mental health conditions confidently within their own practice, reducing the burden on specialist services.

Who can become a Training Partner?

Any mission-aligned institution, health system, academic medical center, or organization responsible for training primary care clinicians in a defined region is eligible to explore a Training Partnership with REACH.

What does the licensing process involve?

REACH works with partner organizations to develop their own faculty talent and teaching capacity, providing the tools, training, and ongoing support needed to deliver PPP confidently and consistently in their region.

How long has the PPP model been proven?

PPP has demonstrated measurable impact for over 20 years. Training Partners benefit from an extensively tested, regularly updated program — without the time and cost of developing a curriculum from scratch.

What impact can a Training Partner expect?

Studies from our Training Partner in Alberta, Canada have demonstrated remarkable impact on individual PCPs and the broader health system. They found that 99% of trained clinicians change their practices, saw a 67% reduction in referrals, and over $3 million in cost savings. While the impact may vary depending on a partners’ size and scale, you can expect clinicians to adopt evidence-based practices, manage mental health care for children directly in primary care, and increase access to effective care for children and families.

Does REACH keep the PPP content updated?

Yes. REACH meets multiple times per year to review PPP units and content, ensuring that clinicians trained by REACH or partner organizations always have access to the most current, evidence-based mental health tools and approaches available.

How do we get started?
